PROJECT KNITWELL

KNITTING WITH A PURPOSE:
Wellness, Comfort, Community.

Project Knitwell was founded in 2010 by Carol Caparosa, a DC-area mom, as a result of her experience with knitting as a tool for coping with stress when her daughter was a pediatric patient at MGUH many years before.

Project Knitwell offers knitting as a tool to promote wellness and  help people cope with stressful situations at more than a dozen hospital and community settings.   All of Project Knitwell’s services and supplies are provided free of charge to the people they serve.

Project Knitwell is a recognized leader in therapeutic knitting, has participated in research on the benefits of knitting for oncology nurses, has been featured in The Washington Post, U.S. NewsVogue Knitting Magazine, and other publications. In conjunction with Lion Brand Yarn Company, and published The Comfort of Knitting in 2015.
